A new shipment arrived from Japan this past week and it included the popular Gold and Blue label sarashi fabrics as well as thin 20/4 Daruma sashiko threads.
All solid colors of these carded 20/4 threads are now in stock and are available in plastic-free packaging!! They are plastic free from the factory to my doorstep and I make my best effort to ship them to your mailbox without the addition of unnecessary plastic or packaging.
I just listed the last bolt of Shizen cotton and flax blend fabric (seen in top photo). This fabric has an absolutely beautiful hand and is perfect for sashiko as well as garment making. Unfortunately it may have been discontinued when Robert Kaufman was purchased. I am currently waiting for more information to determine if this is true or if it is still being made by Sevenberry and available for re-order.
Another popular fabric that is being affected by the purchase of Robert Kaufman is the Kona cotton line of fabrics. I was able to learn that these fabrics are being produced in a different mill. This means that Kona cottons are no longer being produced in Japan. Their weight and Oeko-Tex certification remain the the same however the hand and color are a bit different. The fabrics being produced in the new mills have a smoother hand, slightly more sheen and a more saturated color as compared to the older version Kona cottons. This may be something you prefer..or maybe not. I have yet to create a quilt with the new version so I am curious if any other quilters have thoughts or opinions on it.
As per numerous requests I have started to carry the black Kona cotton. (seen below)

The last item that was listed this past week is a new (to the shop) color of the popular Sevenberry double - sided dobby fabrics. It features sakura over a navy blue hue on one side and asanoha over brown on the reverse. You can purchase this fabric here.

I am running extremely low on nearly all colors of the Sevenberry double sided dobby. I will be placing an order at the end of the week however do not expect a full restock for a few months, as they are shipped directly from Japan.
For those of you hoping to purchase Shozaburo thread snips...I did receive a few in my last shipment and am currently working on photographing them. I hope to have them up and available for purchase on the website by the end of the week.
As always...Thank you to all those wonderful individuals who placed orders from my website over the past week! You are truly supporting a small business and making a HUGE difference in helping to keep my business open.
