Yokota Daruma basting thread is now available for purchase on the site. This is the basting thread that I use for basting my sashiko hana-fukin prior to stitching. Basting is an important step and it is very quick and easy (I promise!) so I always have my students do this before starting their sashiko stitching. 

If you have been using hand or machine sewing thread for your basting then you will love working with a true basting thread. It really holds the fabric better and is so easy to remove. It is also far less expensive than other types of thread.

Olympus sashiko threads have been restocked! There was a modest price increase due to tariffs. For reference, the wholesale cost of a 20m skein has increased about $0.38 per skein.

I am still waiting on my shipment from Japan. It was expected last week but was held up in customs. All required information has been submitted and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it arrives here in the coming week.
