There are a couple new products that I have been carefully photographing and adding to the site. One of them includes the new, LARGE cut of wash-away grid fabric for sashiko (Seen Above). This fabric is produced by QH textiles and features the familiar sashiko grid pattern printed over a mid-weight canvas cotton. This is perfect for individuals that want to create large scale hitome-zashi sashiko patterns on a fabric that is more sturdy than the typical sarashi muslin.

The fabric is available in 41 3/8 x 39 3/8 inch (105 x 100 cm) pre-cuts.

Find this new fabric HERE.

Some other new sashiko sampler additions to the site are:

Cosmo's New Kotobuki Celebration panel.

Wagara Large sized "Waterfall" panel

Wagara Large sized "Splashing Spirits" koi fish panel

Coming down the pipeline : Robert Kaufman's 2026 Imperial Collection "Graceful Cranes". An interesting and sad note about this year's collection is that it is now being printed in South Korea. The Imperial Collection has been made in Japan for as long as I can remember so this is the first year that I have seen it being made elsewhere. The quality is still very good however it is a little bittersweet to see how the tariffs are affecting the industry in Japan.

I believe that this may also have to do with the shift of production of Kona cottons to South Korea as the Imperial Collection is printed on Kona cotton.

We are still seeing an increase in shipping costs due to fuel surcharges and tariffs on items arriving from Japan.

I also want to send a "Thank you" to those who came out to the Spring Makers Market at The Innovation Center at Saratoga. I loved talking to everyone and meeting the other vendors. I came with a number of new tsumami zaiku accessories, including the ume (plum blossom) lapel pin seen in the above photo.

I am expecting a new shipment from Japan this coming week. So look for restocks of Sashiko cloth (yarn-dyed and dot grid), sarashi cloth, kuroha thread snips, Fujix kakishibu threads, kogin canves and Hidamari threads. New items included in this shipment are some brand new hitome-zashi templates!
