Vintage kimono fabric french hair clip barrette - spring floral silk

This hair clip was created using a vintage, silk kimono fabric. This silk has a printed floral design with yellow, cream and orange colored flowers and yellow-green, blue green and green foliage over a grey-blue colored background. The design reminds me of a field of daffodils. This is a medium weight, chirimen, crepe silk and it has a wonderful, pebbly texture.

The front of the hair clip is about 3.5 inches (8.9cm) long x 1 inches (2.5 cm) wide.

The back has a silver colored, metal, french hair clip that is about 2 3/8 inches (6 cm) in length. This is the length of the actual clip portion and does not include the metal on either end of the clip that secures the clip to the front. The clip is riveted onto cream colored leather and secured onto the front of the hair clip. The leather used to make this clip was a scrap piece leftover from making handbags so it was saved before entering the landfill.
