This listing is for one hair clip.
*Tsumami kanzashi translates to "folded fabric hair ornament". In this Japanese technique, small squares of fabric are folded to create beautiful accessories. I use vintage kimono fabrics to create these pieces, giving the fabric a new use and new life when it may have been unable to be used for kimono or larger accessories. I personally starch, cut and fold all the silk used for my kanzashi. *
This beautiful hair clip would make a wonderful accessory for any holiday celebration. The poinsettia has long been a Christmas tradition. It is also the December birth flower. This poinsettia was made from 10 pieces of red silk and 2 pieces of green silk. The stamens were created using yellow paper floral stamens.
The flower is made in the tradition of Tsumami kanzashi but is also sewn together making this clip less prone to damage. The silk petals are glued onto felt and mounted onto a silver colored, metal hair clip (alligator style hair clip).
The flower is about 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter. The metal hair clip is about 1 3/4 inch (4.5cm) long.
This is the actual clip available for purchase.
The hair clip will come in a clear box that is perfect for gifting.
