This gorgeous shawl was made for wearing over kimono but would make a beautiful accessory for any bride, bridesmaid or anyone attending a special occasion.
This is a vintage item and it is in excellent condition. I do not know if it was used.
This wrap was created out of a pink hued, silk chirimen crepe fabric. Chirimen is a crepe-type silk that has a wonderful "orange peel" texture. This is not a smooth silk. Chirimen resists wrinkles, has a wonderful, fluid drape and lovely, subdued sheen.
An asanoha design (hemp leaf pattern) was woven into the silk and runs along the side of the front of the shawl. This design is about 6 inches (15.24 cm) wide and is only present on the front of the wrap. The asanoha pattern is subtle and is more or less noticeable depending on the reflection of the light.
The reverse side of the wrap is a solid pink hued, chirimen silk with no woven design. 4 inch (10.2cm) long fringe was added to each end of the shawl.
Please refer to the last photo for the most accurate representation of the shawl's color. Crayola brand crayons were placed in the photo for a color comparison. The shawl is a subdued, mature colored pink that reminds me of a "bubble gum" pink.

I believe that the pictures show a good representation of the fabric colors however, please remember that colors may look different on your monitor. This is a vintage item so there may be small blemishes or marks in addition to those noted in the description although I do not notice any. This item has been stored for many years so there may be a slight storage smell although I do not notice any.
