This listing is for one tenugui cloth. Tenugui are Japanese hand-towels that are used for numerous things including: towels, face wipes, sweat bands, cleaning, dusting, gift wrapping and decoration. The uses are endless! They are especially good for dusting electronics or cleaning eyeglasses as the cotton is lint free.
Traditionally, tenugui are rectangle pieces of cloth with un-hemmed ends. Having un-hemmed ends allows the cloth to dry quickly. This tengui is more of a hybrid between a tenugui and furoshiki (wrapping) cloth as it is square in shape and all sides are hemmed.
Tenugui towels are a similar feel and thickness as a cotton handkerchief. The fabric is lightweight to allow the tenugui to dry quickly. Please note that the black measurement lines from my cutting table can be seen through the fabric of the towel (2nd photo)
This tenugui is vintage, unused stock (deadstock).
The cotton fabric has a dyed pattern of pink flowers and yellow polka-dots over a light blue background. Please see the 6th photo for the best representation of the colors. Crayola brand crayons are shown in the photo for a color comparison.
This furoshiki is 100% cotton. The cotton is light weight and has a flowing drape.
This cloth is about 19.5 inches x 19.5 inches (49.5 cm x 49.5 cm) in size. All four sides of the cloth are hemmed.
To keep the pattern of this cloth bright, washing in cold water is recommended. Do not bleach. Hang to dry. The fabric can be ironed on the high cotton, steam setting.
*I am always willing to provide more information or pictures regarding my fabrics or using/sewing these fabrics. Please do not hesitate to send me a convo if you have any questions.*
I believe that the pictures show a good representation of the fabric colors however, please remember that colors may look different on your monitor.
