This listing is for one Misuzu brand thread clipper "kuroha".

Misuzu, located in the Hyougo prefecture, has been a specialist manufacturer of traditional scissors and cutters since 1949. They utilize superior craftsmanship and technology and deliver the best cutting experience with their range of tailor's shears, craft scissors and cutters.

These snips are the perfect accessory for sewing, embroidery or sashiko. They are very sharp and easy to pick up and use. They are my "go-to" for all things that involve thread such as: removing stitches, cutting thread, removing short threads and cleaning up my finished item and clipping off fabric pulls.

The body and blades of this kuroha are created out of stainless steel and the blades feature a sharp, pointed tip. They are very sharp and although they are designed as thread scissors they do cut quilting-weight cotton fabrics with ease.

For fans of the Kamesaku brand this Misuzu brand has a less substantial feel but is still very sharp and easy to use. I was told that Kamesaku is no longer producing kuroha but have yet been able to confirm/deny this.

The snips come with a clear, plastic cover so that you can store it in your sewing bag without the fear of being poked later (because yes, these are sharp!).

The clippers are 4.1 inches (105mm) total in length. The blades are about 1 3/8 inches (35mm) long.

The packaging lists the following features of this kuroha:
-The blades can not be misaligned due to special spring
-The cap gives it a gentle feel
-The blade is made of high-carbon stainless steel and the hand is made of 18-chrome stainless steel resulting in exceptional sharpness and rust resistance.
-Due to the special spring used, your hands will not get tired even after prolonged use.

How to care for snips (as translated from package):
-After use, wipe off any dirt from the scissors with a dry cloth and store them with sewing machine oil on the blades to maintain their sharpness

Precautions (as translated from package):
-Caution! This is a sharp object. Please hand with care
-Keep out of reach of children

Scissors: Stainless Steel with blue plastic end
