NEW QH Textiles sashiko pre-printed wash-away pattern sampler - Hitome-Zashi Snowflakes

$15.79

This sashiko sampler contains one greige (beige with gray hue), green or red colored cloth that is hand-printed with a hitome-Zashi (one stitch sashiko) snowflake design. Please use the pull down menu to select the cloth color and quantity that you would like to purchase.

The printed pattern washes out of the cloth with water. I find that these samplers are wonderful for traveling with as they are small and do not require you to pack a large number of supplies. The marks are also easily seen (for less than perfect lighting) and will not rub off when the cloth is folded away.

This sampler can also be used to create a quilt block, placemat or 12 inch (30 cm) pillow.

The entire cloth measures about 25 5/8 long x 14 wide (65 cm long x 35.6 cm wide). The printed portion of the cloth measures about 11.75 inch x 11.75 inch (29.9 cm x 29.9 cm) in size. This portion can be seen in the 4th photo. Traditionally the cloth is folded in half and the stitching is done though 2 layers of fabric.

The greige cotton is 85% cotton and 15% linen. This is a called a "greige" color which is a beige color with gray streaks. There are also gray "slubs" which gives the fabric a subtle bumpy texture.

The green and red samplers are 100% oxford cotton and do not have the slubbing that the greige sampler fabric has. They are also a little smoother and softer than the greige color.

All of the fabrics are lightweight with a slightly open weave. Please refer to the photos with the Crayola brand crayons for the most accurate representation of the color. Crayola brand crayons were placed in the photo for a color comparison and are not included in the listing.

An instruction sheet is included. This can be seen in the last photo. The instructions are printed in English only.

Do NOT iron the fabric prior to removing the pre-printed pattern or the pattern may not wash out completely.

To remove markings:
Hand wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.

Iron while still moist on low temperature. Place sashiko cloth face down onto folded bath towel, prior to ironing, to prevent the stitching from being flattened.

Please note that if you order a large number of thread or small items the shipping weight may be overestimated. Be assured that I always refund shipping cost overages of $1.00 or more. You may also wish to contact me so that I can set up a special order for you, which will have the accurate combined shipping costs. I do not charge handling or packaging fees.
