This is a new, high quality, cotton, dobby weave fabric. This fabric was created in Japan by Morikiku and features a tiny, ume blossom (plum blossom) pattern over a muted, pink - brown hued background.

This is a 100% cotton, medium weight, dobby fabric. This dobby has a wonderful texture and a slightly open weave. It has a slightly rough (but not scratchy) woven texture and slightly crisp drape.

This fabric is the same dobby that is used to create the Morikiku arrow dobby fabrics that are seen here:

This fabric would make a beautiful haori or hippari jacket. It can also be used for home accessories (such as pillows, cushion covers or drapes), sashiko, and quilting.

Please refer to the photo with the crayons for the most accurate representation of the fabric color. Crayola brand crayons are shown in the photo for a color comparison. This fabric is a pink color with a brown undertone. It will appear to be more pink or more brown (or nearly terracotta) depending on the light. The plum blossoms are an off-white cream hue. Small 2x2 inch samples can be provided upon request.
