Tsumami kanzashi Glue: 100 gram tub

$10.99

*This listing is for a 100gram tub of glue. Please select the number of tubs you would like to purchase from the drop down menu.*

This glue is especially formulated for creating Tsumami kanzashi. It works especially well for gluing fabric onto bases and styrofoam half-rounds. This is not the traditional Nori (rice paste) glue but a modern glue that is a "white" glue (PVA glue) that was made just for tsumami kanzashi. Although it has similar ingredients to most craft and wood glues it has a thick and smooth texture that makes it work perfectly for tsumumai kanzashi projects. The thickness of the glue prevents the fabric from becoming soggy, due to excess water in the glue.

This has fast become my go-to glue for Tsumami Kanzashi as it does not require the petals to sit in the glue to "firm" up the adhesive and it is very sticky so petals will stick where they are placed and not slide. You only need to dip the petal into the glue and then it can be placed onto your base. The petal can be repositioned as needed but this glue dries a bit faster than traditional nori paste so you only have about 5 minutes (dependent on temperature and humidity) to reposition the petal before it gets too tacky to move. The glue is a milky, white color (photo 2) but it dries clear (photo 3).

To glue fabric on cardboard bases or styrofoam half-rounds simply paint a thin layer of glue on the base and fold the fabric around the base. You only need a very thin layer of glue for the fabric to stick.

I like to remove a small amount of glue and place it on a plastic sheet. I then keep the glue container closed to prevent it from drying out.

This glue will only work for porous substances (fabrics, paper) and will not work for plastics, metals, gems etc. If you are using a fabric you haven't used before it is recommended that you check to make sure it works before using it for your project. Remember, some fabrics are literally made out of plastic and this glue doesn't bind plastic very well.

The nitty-gritty safety stuff:
This glue has a scent. I would not classify it as a strong smell. It smells similar to white school paste or Carpenter's glue. If you are sensitive to smells then it is recommended that you use the glue in an area with good ventilation. Please do not eat the glue. This is glue and and should only be used as a glue. Keep it tightly sealed and away from children when not being used. If your child or your dog eats your glue then it is recommended that you consult with a doctor or a vet (in the case of the dog) or both (not judging). If you have sensitive skin please avoid getting the glue on your skin and drying on your skin. Always wash your hands with soap and water after using the glue. This is water based glue and glue can be removed from brushes or clothing with soap and warm water. If the glue has dried on clothing the article of clothing can be soaked overnight to help loosen the glue.

Please keep this glue at room temperature and avoid freezing.
