Large, 32 inches (81 cm), Japanese cotton furoshiki wrapping cloth - temari balls

This listing is for one furoshiki cloth. Furoshiki are traditionally used to carry clothing, food or gifts. They can be folded in many ways to create ornate wrappings for gifts. They also make beautiful centerpieces for quilts or home decor items such as cushion covers.

This furoshiki is a vintage, used item. There are some flaws on this furoshiki. Please read the description carefully to learn about these flaws. This item is being offered at a reduced cost due to these flaws.

This cotton furoshiki has a printed pattern of white, red, blue and yellow abstract, temari balls over a medium blue hued background. Please see the last photo for the best representation of the colors. Crayola brand crayons are shown in the photo for a color comparison. The blue color is appearing a little more dark periwinkle hued on my screen than seen in person. The furoshiki has a medium blue colored background.

This furoshiki is made of cotton and has a slubby texture that reminds me of barkcloth, tsumugi or dupioni silk. The cotton is a medium weight and has a slightly stiff drape. The drape will probably become less stiff after repeated laundering.

This cloth is about 32 inches x 33 inches ( 81 cm x 84 cm) in size. All four sides of the cloth are hemmed.

**There are two areas where some light staining is seen. The first area of staining can be seen in the 8th photo. There are two areas where there is some dark staining and one area where the color is a little lighter. Arrows are pointing to these areas. They are difficult to capture in a photo due to the slight sheen and texture of the fabric. The second area of staining is about 8.5 inches x 4 inches ( 21.6 cm x 10.2 cm) from the ends of the cloth. This spot can be seen in the 9th photo. Please be aware that these spots were difficult to photograph and although they are light they are more noticeable in person. I have not tried to remove these spots.**

Fabric specifics:

- Medium weight

-"Barkcloth" like texture

-Primarily cotton. This item does not have a tag so it could contain other natural fibers such as linen.

-Little to no stretch lengthwise

Due to the dying of this fabric it should be washed in cold water, separately. Do not bleach or dry clean. The fabric can be ironed on the high cotton, steam setting. To prevent dye bleeding, do not allow the fabric to soak in the water.

*I am always willing to provide more information or pictures regarding my fabrics or using/sewing these fabrics. Please do not hesitate to send me a convo if you have any questions.*

I believe that the pictures show a good representation of the fabric colors however, please remember that colors may look different on your monitor. This is a vintage item so there may be small blemishes or marks in addition to those noted in the description. This item has been stored for many years so there may be a slight storage smell although I do not notice one.
