This gorgeous shawl was made for wearing over kimono but would make a beautiful accessory for a bride, bridesmaid or anyone attending a special occasion.
This shawl is in excellent condition however there are a few flaws on the lining. Please read the description carefully to learn about these flaws.
This brick red hued shawl was created with a gorgeous, pebbly, chirimen crepe fabric. I believe that this is silk but it could also be synthetic. The fabric has a wonderful texture and subtle sheen. A small medallion was also woven into the fabric on the left side of the wrap. Beautiful, matching lace borders the chirimen on all sides but the top edge. The lace features an abstract floral pattern.
The wrap is a brick red color with an orange undertone that is more or less noticeable depending on the light. The last photo shows the color most accurately on my screen. Crayola brand crayons were placed in the photo for color comparison.
The back of the shawl is lined with a matching fabric. The fabric is silky and looks like and feels like silk or a polyester. Please note that there are a few, tiny flaws on the lining. These flaws can be seen in the 9th photo. The top picture shows the area where the flaws are seen. There are 3 areas where the lining fabric is thinner or worn away. The two left-most spots are not holes in the lining but appear to be slightly worn spots. They are very faint. The right most spot appears to be a small hole. A close-up of this area is seen in the bottom photo. This hole is very small and difficult to see when the wrap is worn.

Total width of wrap: 16.5 inches (42 cm)
The lace trim on the bottom of the shawl is about 7.75 to 8.5 inches (19.7 to 21.6 cm) tall.
I believe that the pictures show a good representation of the fabric colors however, please remember that colors may look different on your monitor. This is a vintage item so there may be small blemishes or marks in addition to those noted in the description although I do not notice any. This item has been stored for many years so there may be a slight storage smell although I do not notice any.
