This beautiful Haori jacket is from my personal collection. I wish I could keep them all but I can not. This jacket has been used but is in perfect shape.
Haori jackets are generally worn over kimono but these jackets also look beautiful over a simple pair of jeans. They have a nice weight to them and will keep the fall chill away. The jacket would also look beautiful with a dress. This jacket does not have closure ties. Although haori are often worn without ties, ties (Himo) can be purchased and added to the loops on the jacket.
This haori is created out of silk and also has a silk lining. Beautiful reddish-brown, pinkish, and blue flowers, branches and leaves are printed onto the off-white colored silk. Although I am not positive, I believe that these flowers are nadeshiko (dianthus) and hagi (bush clovers). The colors, motifs and type of silk indicate that this is a haori jacket that is designed to be worn in the fall.
The silk is a medium weight and has a subtle sheen. It has a crepe like texture to it, although it is smoother than chirimen crepe. This silk is resistant to wrinkles.

Length of sleeves(how far the sleeves fall): 18 inches (45.7 cm)
**Stand with your arms spread out and have a friend measure from one wrist, across your shoulders and to your other wrist. This will help determine where the sleeve will fall on your wrist.
I believe that the pictures show a good representation of the fabric colors however, please remember that colors may look different on your monitor. This is a vintage item so there may be small blemishes or marks although, I do not see any. This item has been stored for many years so there may be a slight storage smell although I do not notice any. Items can be hung in the shade to remove odor. Dry cleaning is recommended.
